I've been waiting for my wife's second temporary residence permit for over 2 years now (applied Feb 2010). The application was done at Germiston Home affairs and we re-submitted documentation again in Dec 2010. January 2011 we received confirmation that Home Affairs Head office had the documents for processing. As of March 2011 until now we must have re-submitted documentation to the call center about 4 to 5 times. According to the call center once Head office receives the documentation all we can do is to "be patient" ...since Feb 2010 how patient must i be!!! We have been married for over 6 years now. She should have her permanent residence already! our son has an ID before her! The problem isn't Home Affairs Germiston (that's another story) or the Call center, its Home Affairs Head office (Not Home Affairs Pretoria) which is closed to the public. Does HELLO PETER have any contacts at Home Affairs head office to get this matter resolved? I can just imaging how long permanent residency is gonna take :( Since she doesn't have the permit we cannot apply for Home loans or anything as the marriage is registered as CP. Our lives are on hold due to poor government service. |
